| Publisher Description: Growing up in the streets of Detroit, trying to figure out who I was and where I fit in, I felt like I had no other option but to hide the monstrous truth of my home life. Survival was a day to day task, so feeling sorry for myself was never an option. I survived impoverished living conditions, bullying, parental abandonment, extreme physical abuse towards my siblings and me, sexual abuse at the hands of my stepfather and ultimately, teen pregnancy.
