Publisher Description: Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Since 2005 the term "rock noir" has been used to describe groups with a penchant for dramatic storytelling through lyrics and music. Italian group Belladonna coined the term, but earlier acts such as the Velvet Underground and The Doors have been associated with the style. This book looks at the musical influences on rock noir, the way filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock have influenced rock noir and the groups considered to be in the rock noir category of music. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge. |
