Publisher Description: (LARGE PRINT EDITION) 1902. Edited from the Bannatyne Manuscript in the Advocates' Library, Edinburgh, and the Maitland Manuscript in the Library of Magdalen College, Cambridge. Very little is known about his early life and career. In the main, Scott's poems fall into two categories: courtly love lyrics, some of which were composed to dance tunes, and poems describing the spectrum of emotions experienced by those in love. In successfully portraying the contradictions and confusions of love Scott is considered by many to be the finest Scottish love poet before Burns. |
