Publisher Description:
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The culture of Wales is distinctive, with its own cuisine, languages, dress, and sports. Wales is primarily represented by the symbol of the red Welsh Dragon, but other national emblems include the leek and daffodil. Welsh cooking often includes seafood, especially close to the coast, where fishing culture is strong and fisheries are common. This is exemplified by the use of cockles and laver in Welsh cuisine. The Traditional Welsh costume is a costume once worn by rural women in Wales. The costume was identified as being different to that worn by the rural women of England by many of the English visitors who toured Wales during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This book studies various elements of Welsh culture including Welsh cake, Welsh surnames, and Rugby Leagues in Wales. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
