Publisher Description: Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Childhood is the age span ranging from birth to adolescence. In developmental psychology, childhood is divided up into the developmental stages of toddlerhood, early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence. Early childhood follows the infancy stage, and begins with toddlerhood when the child begins speaking or taking steps independently. Middle childhood begins at around age seven or eight, approximating primary school age and ends around puberty, the beginning of adolescence. Adolescence, or late childhood, begins around the time of puberty. This book studies various aspects of childhood including infants, toddlers, childhood obesity, child labour, child abuse, and children's street games. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge. |
