Contributor Bio(s): McNeely, Tom: - I was born in Toronto in 1935. And I knew from age 9 that I wanted to be an artist. I studied with artists Fred Steiger and Fred Savard while in grade school. Graduated from an art course at Danforth Technical School in 1953. Worked for Toronto art studios doing advertising, book publishers and magazines. Worked for National Geographic Society books and illustrated maps. Highlights: Work shown in Society of Illustrators exhibitions in New York, NY, then invited to become a member. Produced many First Day Philatelic covers for Unicover Corp., Cheyenne, Wyoming. received a Lifetime Award from The Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communications. I live and work in Toronto and continue to sculpt, design, paint portraits and landscapes. I am a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor. The Arts in all forms bring great satisfaction.Meister, Cari: - Cari Meister has written more than 130 books for children, including the Tiny series (Penguin) and the Fast Forward Fairy Tales series (Scholastic). Cari is a school librarian and she loves to visit other schools and libraries to talk about the joy of reading and writing.
