He was a warden of Merton College, Oxford. His works include: Ecclesiastical Cases: Collection of the Judgements (with W. H. Freemantle) (1865), Political Studies (1879), English Land and English Landlords (1881), Memorials of Merton College (1885) and Short History of Oxford University (1886). John Knight Fotheringham (1874-1936) was a British author, astronomer, mathematician and historian. In 1894 he was awarded and took second class honours in Classical Moderations. From 1898 until 1902 he was a senior Demyship at Magdalen College and during this period he was studying Ancient Chronology. From 1904 until 1905 he was made a lecturer in Classical Literature at King's College. In 1908 he wrote some papers which were concerned with astronomical chronology. His works include: Marco Sanudo (1915), Cleostratus (1920) and Historical Eclipses (1921). |
