| Publisher Description: Roland Greene Usher (1880-1957/1967) was an American author. He was professor of history at Washington University, St. Louis. He was a transplanted East Coast American who traced his family's roots in the United States back to 1638 and the Pilgrim Fathers. During and immediately after World War I, he published several books on international relations, all of them urging that the United States could not continue to follow policies of aloofness from world affairs but must in the future play a far more active role.
