Publisher Description:
Roland Greene Usher (1880-1957/1967) was an American author. He was professor of history at Washington University, St. Louis. He was a transplanted East Coast American who traced his family's roots in the United States back to 1638 and the Pilgrim Fathers. During and immediately after World War I, he published several books on international relations, all of them urging that the United States could not continue to follow policies of aloofness from world affairs but must in the future play a far more active role. His works include: Pan-Germanism (1913), The Rise of the American People (1914), Pan-Americanism: A Forecast of the Inevitable Clash Between the United States and Europe's Victor (1915), The Pilgrims and Their History (1918) and The Story of the Great War (1919).
