Publisher Description:
This is a story that centers around Alice Fairchild, a flamboyant and charismatic professional wrestler who has taken the sport of professional wrestling by a storm of a magnitude not seen since the birth of television and Gorgeous George of the nineteen fifties. The time of this story is during the seventies. This was a time before professional wrestling became known as sports entertainment and still had a certain mystery and mystique to the general public. Professional wrestling was having a popularity boom due to the increased exposure of cable television. Alice Fairchild, being the world heavyweight wrestling champion, had become one of the most recognized faces in American households due to the combination of this exposure and the charismatic character that he was. During this time, the boxing world was enjoying the most dominant heavyweight champion in years, Bruce "The Brick" Barber. Bruce Barber was preparing for the biggest fight of his career, a unification bout with the undefeated heavyweight champion of a rival boxing organization. This was being promoted as the fight of the century, two undefeated heavyweight champions fighting in a unification match to decide who was really the baddest man on the planet. The buildup and promotion for this event was receiving enormous media coverage. Alice Fairchild marveled at the revenue and media coverage that this boxing event was generating. Always looking for new gimmicks and ways to draw attention to himself, Alice started using this event to promote himself with only the wit and sarcastic humor that he had. Alice had no idea of the worldwide media circus that escalated from this which was unlike anything seen before or since that would change his life forever.
