Publisher Description:
Sidney Mobell is a man of tremendous talent and energy who wanted to create beautiful objects from ordinary things. His life began in the depression era and from an orphanage in Denver, Colorado he pursued his hopes and dreams by working tirelessly to achieve his artistic ideas to make simple things beautiful. As a young boy, he sold newspapers and swept out a jewelry store. His association with the gold and precious stones made him comprehend that these items could present the splendor of magical creations. He worked diligently to provide the opportunity to achieve the dream of the images in his mind. Sidney Mobell's jeweled creations were recognized worldwide and his jeweled art collection became a part of both the National Museum of Natural History and the Commons Museum in the original old Smithsonian Castle Building. His enthusiasm about life in general and his motivation to accomplish his elegant ideas make up the force of his nature. At 79 years of age, he could not sit still and enrolled at Stanford University in a course called, "The Mental Edge in Sales." Although he had obviously achieved the qualities being taught, he wanted to continue to learn and keep his mind active to things that are happening.
