Publisher Description:

This compact handbook provides orthopedic surgeons in training with concise and relevant core knowledge on all aspects of children's' orthopedics. Content includes the common orthopedic conditions that affect children and includes highlighted key facts. These conditions are seen and examined on in examinations. "Red flags" are also emphasised, including the key management points of potentially serious conditions. This handbook would also be useful to pediatricians and family doctors working in busy clinics that need a quick reference guide and with highlighted "red flags" of serious conditions will not be missed.

It is not aimed at replacing large multi volume textbooks on pediatric orthopedics. This handbook would be a pocket sized book with concise text with multiple illustrations. Key aspects of the topic will be highlighted within a box and in addition, any important "red flag" symptoms or signs that are critical to alert the reader would also be highlighted. A concise list of references to the topic would be at the end of each chapter. These references will enable the reader to rapidly obtain an up to date list of the relevant literature. Other similar books are either predominantly text based or picture based. This book combines the two to produce a new style hand book with important features readily identified in highlighted text boxes
