Publisher Description:
This is one of the most descriptive poems describing the frustrations that still exist among those of African descent in the United States. After being brutality manhandled by a rogue state trooper, the author, Dr. Anton Dormer penned this poem as a representation of the humiliation and pain that he felt after being arrested for no reason. Though a successful professional and a promoter for Black self-reliance worldwide he lives in fear every time police is in his vicinity. Even though he manages his fear well by living as a role model for his children, being an empowering husband, he still knows that the work of true equality is not done. As the former governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, once noted that being stopped by the police is, "Every Black man nightmare." This poem takes one through the journey of the Black Americans in this country and end with a view of hope. This poem will touch you and leave you with an expectation that there will be a better day that is up to us.
