Publisher Description:
This is the story of a computer robot, programmed to perform human jobs at the Texas Science Center. In the earlier stages the robot walked from room to room in the hospital taking vital signs of patients & transmitting the records to the central nurses' station. Later while Dr. Goggin sat in his office on the seventh floor of the hospital, he had George, named after himself, perform general surgeries. There was a serious dichotomy in George's personality. Only a diabolical or demented being would take body parts from someone else and then repeatedly try to justify that he could make better use of the body parts than the beggars who had them. Though George had sworn not to use illegal drugs, yet when swine flu broke out, he used marijuana and poppy No. 2. Put these drugs in the water supply & a feeling of exhilaration in the victims "feel better and they get better". In the country of Dubai where there was no marijuana, George used poppy No. 2. When the plague broke out at the military base. It helped soldiers get well, but it had the same effect as Viagra. Soldiers and marines quickly were made well but the country was too small for their libido. George with his demure and duteous personality represents many types of character traits of people who want to do good but many times create detrimental effects upon others and sometimes upon the community. Clearly George has an abnormal personality when he swears not to use illegal drugs but quickly turns to drugs and accidentally learns that when sick persons feel better they get better. No doubt the reason George turned to drugs for healing is because they were so plentiful; illegal Mexicans had brought in their drug culture and politicians didn't seem to care. Through his studies in psychology, George becomes a therapist and analyzes various real personality types. Later he turns to study the physical sciences and discovers the similarities between his own DNA and the DNA of his dog. Through an operation some of George's DNA is inserted into his dog enabling the dog to talk. His name is Loquacious who never stops talking. When Loquacious can't enter some of the places where George was preaching, Loquacious accuses him of treating him like a dog. Study of physical sciences enables George to participate in the creation of the sensory phenomenon which controls human behavior. The device when inserted into the nerve system removes negative thoughts and rings a bell in the head before a bad deed is done. Physical science also prepares George for a debate on evolution with university professors. George's next interest turns to theology where he becomes a notable Christian preacher. He ends up showing that Christians, Jews and Muslims all pray to the same God. He was constantly in contention with Muslims who accidentally shot his wife, Kathleen.Being a robot was easy for George since his body parts in the early days were all stainless steel and were made to last for years. Gradually as the robot's owner, Dr. George Goggin, experimented with him, the robot was programmed to perform surgery. After performing approximately five hundred surgeries, the robot was becoming conscious of himself. Taking on the owner's name, George began to use the brain stored in the five computers on what would eventually become his shoulder. A poor man came to the Science Center where George was working. The man was depressed and did not want to live. George didn't think it would be murder if he put the man to sleep forever, he did. Dr. Goggin died of a heart attack when he saw what George had done. After stealing Goggin's medical credentials George began his escape from the law. On the Bowery of the city he found many bums who became candidates for body parts. One by one he put the vagabond beggars to sleep and took whatever body part he needed. He always maintained that he could make better use of body parts than the bums who dona
