Some bought small plots to build a cabin and carve out a living, while others amassed large acreages of the most fertile soil in the world. Contributor Bio(s): Flowers, Judith Coleman: - Judith Coleman Flowers, a local historian, is one of the founders and initial president of the Clarksdale Heritage Foundation. She has served as the special projects coordinator for the Coahoma County Tourism Commission and has freely given of her time in genealogical research in exchange for donations to the Carnegie Public Library of Clarksdale and Coahoma County.
