Publisher Description:
Violetta Carbona, kingpin of The Keystone's board of directors brings private investigator and former cop Titus Kofi on board initially to investigate suspected employee embezzlement at The Keystone. His job duties expand when morbid events like 'riding the gargoyle', 'bird-caging' and bodies in the elevator draw the unwanted attention of State investigator Elsie Hancock. Violetta wants just enough done to satisfy suspicions and keep The Keystone generating huge amounts of cash. Titus Kofi wants to do his job and find out who is behind the seemingly innocuous deaths of The Keystone's residents. Titus seems to delight in antagonizing much of the Scranton Detective Division thanks to past history and his current attitude that all cops are crooked. Throughout the story of The Keystone, Titus manages to combine an uncanny ability to anger or frustrate nearly everyone around him with an unremitting drive to find justice and peace, perhaps for himself as much as anyone.
