Publisher Description: Oceanus, the ocean planet was once a paradise. Whales ruled the seas full of plankton and fish. Wildlife flourished in the immense forests, prairies and coast lands. A species of primates ruled over the continents rising from the seas surrounding much of the planet. As this species evolved, tribal communities and sacred ties to the earth were broken. Cities emerged and spread a plague of pollution onto the once fertile earth, into the life giving rivers and seas, into the very air they breathed. Wars were continually fought over dominion of precious resources, wasting the ecosystem. On the eve of destruction, an ancient nemesis appeared in the skies above Oceanus. In the midst of these troubles, a group of college kids who stay at the beach during the summer go on adventures into the wild places. They yearn to know more about nature and how their generation can fit into Nature's realm. They meet a strange dude who seems to come from a different time or maybe even a different world. He tells them enthralling stories of the ancient past when gods came to Oceanus to teach men and women from the Tree of Knowledge. Soon afterward their world is in turmoil when they learn that beings from another world have invaded their planet. |
