Publisher Description:
This book has been years in the making, it started during the time the author was living in Savannah, Georgia. At that time, he was the founder and host of a local cable TV show and working at one of the local Universities. During that time, the state of Georgia received a part of the Summer Olympic Games. Everyone was coming up with ideas regarding how to capitalize on that. Everyone had different ideas; few if any however came to fruition. Georgia being the "Peach State" of course many of ideas were peach related. The author did however, have the peach characters created, copyrighted, and a few T-Shirts made. However, He shut it all down, not having the funds to support it, as life and living got in the way. As he use to volunteer to read to elementary school children, he started writing the Children's story, "The Olympia's and The Oleos" (c) "The Mighty Georgia Peaches" and continued adding to it and revising it from time to time over the years, as a pass-time. Now he wants to get this story years in the making out for children and adults alike to enjoy. He has created a magical world where Georgia peaches come alive on an Ancient Peach tree some-where in Georgia. They have to figure out how to get off of the old tree; they talk, dance, sing and discover that they also have magical powers, as they explore their way through the mysteries of the world. This is good old fashioned - fireplace storytelling by grandpa who (knows nothing about I-pads, u-pads or flat screen TV) has been saddled with the responsibility of taking care of his grand- children, while their parents seek meaningful employment in the "big city". The story is one that encourages determination, cooperation and unity. The story begins: "Once upon a time and a times time, things got tough in Georgia and the farmers abandoned their peanut arms and left their peach orchards and this is where our story begins, in an old abandoned peach orchard long ago" . . .
