| Publisher Description: The Samuel Miller papers were received by the Marine Corps Museum in 1967 and are particularly useful in documenting the Marine Corps participation in the Florida Indian Wars in 1836 -37. The collection is largely composed of Miller's official correspondence during the 1836-37 Indian campaigns but it also includes an interesting, if somewhat miscellaneous, selection of personal and official material from such documents as an apparently unique Muster Roll of the Marine detachment at the Battle of Bladensburg 1814, to the correspondence relating to his participation in an abortive duel. |
