Publisher Description:
This is the second book in the Cowboys and Women series. It focuses on Daisy's good friend from the orphanage, Elizabeth Hendricks, just after she is offered a job to work on the Higgins' ranch. This is Elizabeth's first experience with real independence. She is not easily persuaded to give it up in the midst of dating two men who are interested in her. As relationships are formed, Elizabeth finds herself in danger and needing to be rescued. It is the men who surround her who will fight to keep her safe, but the battle is not an easy one. Circumstances spiral out of control as Elizabeth is charged with a crime. The Davis family enlist the help of Attorney Tobias Archer in the hopes that he will be able to clear her of the charges against her and keep her from life imprisonment.
