Publisher Description:
This book is a test of the human spirit. Misery has a role in everyone's life. The question is, will misery take over your life and lead to your ultimate destruction, or do you have the courage, strength and support to pull yourself up and move forward toward a better life? We first met Kelly Dailey in the book "Five Years to Live." She was recovering from a lightening strike at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia. While Michael Battaglia, the main character in "Five Years to Live," thrived due to his strength of character and strong family support system, Kelly had no support system. Like many of us Kelly believed she did not need nor want help from anyone. She quickly discovered without a strong support system, her life quickly unraveled. She waged a failing battle against her demons - addiction, homelessness, arrest and rehab. The harder she fought alone, the further her life deteriorated. Kelly hit rock bottom multiple times before seeking and accepting help. As she attempted to separate herself from her demons a new crisis surfaced. This crisis put Kelly at that critical moment. Her whole life, everything she has ever said or done is pointing at this moment in her life with all the intensity and power of a high caliber rifle. She is teetering on the point between death and life, yes, between suicide and unbearable agony. She takes a deep breath and another swallow of gin. She looks up toward heaven and cries out "Why God? Why have you taken everyone I have ever loved? I can't go on. I can't do this anymore. It just isn't worth it." With that last plea to heaven, Kelly drops the flowers and starts to walk into the unforgiving ocean. Will she survive or finally succumb to her demons. What would you do?
