Publisher Description: Al Tannoura Troupe is one of the Egyptian folk troupes, established in 1988 by the General Organization Responsible for Cultural Palaces in the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. The group is based in the the old Fatmie capital of Cairo, specifically at Wekalet El-Ghouri. These dancers are not professionally trained but have rather inherited this art spontaneously from their forefathers. Rababa, Salamia, flute, drums, tambourines and sanjes are among the musical instruments that usually accompany the troupe's performance. |
