Publisher Description:
This small book "Falling Fences and Building Bridges" (A Comparative Religious Research) is a revised edition of my Article that I contributed during our School's Students Law week, in April this year (2014), i.e. a Month back. The printing and distribution of some copies of this Article was sponsored by the Muslims Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) branch of the School. I named the Article after the motto of the students' Law Week. The main purpose of which is to build bridges that cut across ethnic and religious sentiment and fall the fences of tribalism, nepotism and religious bigotry. The booklet discusses the relationship that do exist between our two main religions in this country as well as in the World at large, i.e. Christianity and Islam; the ignorance of which sometimes results unrest in most parts of the country as well as that of the world at large. This ignorance also became an opportunity to some ill-minded people to utilize same and fulfilled their evil desires. I therefore, categorically make a call upon people to try and spare of their time to look into it, and also to be part of the cause towards its dissemination in order to make it reach every nook and corner of this country and the world at large, this is in order to make peace prevail in the world. I also want to extend the call to the governments and non-governmental organizations to be part of the same task. As we have seen that the Muslim students Society branch of the school having seen the importance of the contents of the Article contributed their quota in trying to see that it get in touch with some people. This becomes necessary because it will help in reducing the level of the insecurity prevailing in the country as well as in the world at large. There is an Arabic saying, meaning: "Man is an enemy of what he is ignorant of".
