Publisher Description:
In 1972, two twenty-one year old Englishmen were sent by a strange religious sect to help the street dogs of Trinidad and became involved in an escapade so bizarre you could not have made it up.They arrived at the end of a State of Emergency, after an eventful sea voyage on a tramp steamer, without visas or work permits and travelling with a crate of drugs and guns. The Mayor of Port-of-Spain embroiled them in his re-election campaign and they soon became headline news, upsetting the Government in the process.Meanwhile they were put up in a house of ill-repute, were suspected of being spies and became involved in many adventures, meeting many characters along the way.Thwarted from doing the job they had been sent to do, they were left to spend several months exploring the magnificent deserted beaches and jungle and submerged themselves into Trinidad life and culture. Being young and enjoying the Tropics for the first time they soon found themselves suffering near fatal experiences and wildlife encounters.Their soujourn in Paradise though could not last for ever.....This is a Travelogue with a difference and the type of adventure that doesn't happen anymore.
