Publisher Description:
Distribution includes the ability to plan and execute the movement of forces for deployment and redeployment as well as sustainment and retrograde. It is the operational process of synchronizing all elements of the logistic system to deliver the right things to the right place at the right time to support the joint force commander. The Secretary of Defense directed joint deployment and distribution enterprise (JDDE) community of interest (COI) connects Service, Department of Defense (DOD), and other government agency movements under the end-to-end distribution coordinating authority exercised by Commander, United States Transportation Command (CDRUSTRANSCOM) as the distribution process owner (DPO). The joint logistics enterprise (JLEnt) is a multitiered matrix of key global logistics providers cooperatively engaged or structured to achieve a common purpose without jeopardizing the integrity of their own organizational missions and goals. The JLEnt describes an approach to working across organizational boundaries to generate improved levels of logistics support and core logistics functions, such as supply, maintenance operations, deployment and distribution, health services, engineering, logistic services, and operational contract support.
