Winchip, LEED AP, is a Professor Emeritus of Interior and Environmental Design in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Illinois State University. She has over 20 years of experience designing residential, corporate, and institutional interiors with specialties in lighting and sustainability.

Susan W. Winchip received her Ph.D. from Illinois State University and Bachelor's and Master's degree from Purdue University in interior and environmental design. She is LEED AP, MIES, and Professor Emerita, Interior and Environmental Design at Illinois State University. Professional memberships are IDEC and IES and accomplishments include over 30 years teaching design, working with clients, and publishing five design textbooks.
