Publisher Description: The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is investing $3 million for a new adaptation program that will reduce the vulnerability of Malawians and their livelihoods to climate change. The program design will be based on a vulnerability assessment that addresses vulnerability at both the national and local level. Activities may include strengthening the capacity of the national government and local communities to respond to climate change-related disasters; implementing climate solutions such as increased water-use efficiency to address variability in water supply; and promoting management practices that increase farmers' resilience to climate change. |
