Publisher Description: The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is investing $2 million through its Nigeria Energy and Climate Change Project and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technical Assistance Project to support renewable energy and energy efficiency efforts. Specific activities will include capacity building for government officials and private sector employees, including bank employees, to support the use of funds leveraged through the U.S. Government's Development Credit Authority mechanism to finance projects for renewable energy and energy efficiency, and to negotiate long-term financing for these projects. USAID will also provide technical assistance to strengthen the renewable energy market in Nigeria and to improve the policy and regulatory environment for clean energy production. |
