Publisher Description: The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing $2.3 million to support climate change adaptation initiatives and reduce the economic impact of weather-related disasters in the Dominican Republic. Activities of these initiatives will include strengthening public and private institutions responsible for climate change adaptation and contributing to the Dominican Republic's action plan to address climate impacts on critical sectors including tourism, agriculture, and water management. The program will focus on coastal marine systems and watersheds in three geographic areas identified through climate change vulnerability analyses. |
