His many books include The Killing of the Tinkers, The Guards, The Dramatist, Priest, Cross, and The Devil. He was a finalist for the Edgar, Barry, and Macavity awards, as well as a Shamus Award for The Guards. Bruen received the Best Series Award in 2007 for the Jack Taylor novels from the Crime Writers' Association. Starr, Jason: -Jason Starr has earned rave reviews for his work from publications ranging from the New York Times to Entertainment Weekly, which compared him to Jim Thompson and James M. Cain.
