Publisher Description:
This story was partly based on the lives that have been touched by a Confederate spy, Percy Townsend. The location of the story begins at the start of the Civil War. He associates with the Royal family and the rich and famous of the era in England. He becomes disillusioned with slavery when he sees how they are treated. He questions his loyalty and duty but continues with his work. He survives a number of assassination attempts. He recruits assassins in espionage for the confederacy. He leaves Europe then moves to the Bahamas to supervise the espionage network and the blockade running operations. There, he purchase a black orphan boy in an illicit slave market. He has something in common with the boy. The war is winding down; the Union blockade is keeping out the needed Confederate war materials. He deals with a treacherous Caribbean pirate still operating in the area. The pirate kidnaps his woman and holds her hostage. He skillfully deals with the situation. The war ends and Percy goes to England to settle Confederate accounts. While there, a terrible storm ravages the Bahamas and his family. He is melancholy and angry with himself. He reconciles with his God and returns to Scotland to seek his first love that surprises him with news.
