Publisher Description: "The Water" is based on John 4:14]. "But, whosoever drinketh of the Water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the Water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water, springing up into everlasting life." The Water is a story of pioneers around the year 1740. Charlie Dawson, a mountain man of unusual courage and skills, with another mountain man are preparing an area in the mountains for a number of families to move to from the flat land. The flat land would be Virginia today, and the mountains would be West Virginia. The central characters are the Colberts, Gramma, Grandpa and Thad. Thad's parents died in the mountains, where Charlie and Mac are working. As the two mountain men plan and prepare, they are visited by two Frenchmen, who are missionaries at heart, then later by white renegades, then by Indians. Meanwhile, down with Grampa and Thad, Thad finds a new little friend, which brings on adversity and unfriendly encounters. "The Water" is full of action, adventure, mystery and common sense stirred into a Spiritual mix, that is palatable to the Bible believer's appetite. It can be enjoyed and appreciated by Bible lovers of all ages. |
