Publisher Description:
When Chris Harper arrives in Abilene, Kansas on a wintry night he encounters a drunken Indian who has shot the town marshal and ran all the patrons out of the Alamo Saloon. Harper, being cold, wet and hungry manages to render the Indian unconscious and hauls him off to jail. While checking into the hotel he has a brief run in with three hard cases who are there to rob the bank after a large money shipment arrives. When the banker's step son is kidnapped Harper is drawn into the holdup to assist the man who is temporarily filling in for the marshal. Harper senses that all is not right in Abilene and others who reside in the cow town may be involved. Harper is surprised when quite by accident he runs into his older brother, Monte, whom he has not seen in years. There is a warm reunion takes place and Monte joins up with Chris in his search to find the 'silent' gang members who live in Abilene Town.
