Publisher Description:
The Art of Common Sense shows how a shows how a 21st century approach to philosophy can be applied to the matter of living well. It does this by telling the story of Bodie, a journalist, and Murdo, a philosopher who left his academic post to work as a coach.

When Bodie first met Murdo, his life was in a comfortable but unsatisfying rut. He wasn't getting commissioned to write many interesting articles, he was no longer playing the music he loved, and his relationship with his girlfriend had lost its sparkle. Murdo recognised Bodie's potential, though, and commissioned him to ghost-write a book on coaching.

The project coaxed Bodie out of his rut, then wove a path through all the significant areas of his life, from the influence of his childhood to the political and economic issues he liked to write about. But it was hard to imagine what form the finished book might take. Would Bodie be able to write a book he was proud of? And would he be able to transform his life into something truly satisfying?
