Publisher Description: Bernice Brown; known as Venom, was born in Kansas City Missouri. Raised by her mother, she grew up with an older sister. Somewhat of a family outcast and loner, she would often distance herself and write her thoughts on paper. Long before she knew she was destined to be a poet/author, she would write letters to her deceased great grandfather. When life seemed to be getting the best of her, she'd sit in a dark place, cry and write down her every emotion. The absence of her father drew her into very dark places and she began seeking love in many different places. At the end of every dead end road she'd find that no one could ever love her like she could love herself. However, to this day, she still longs for the love of her father. She still remembers that day she sat on her mother's front porch; waiting for a dad that never showed up. Throughout life, she carried bitterness in her heart and nearly self destructed. These collections of poems are testaments to her life. I'm Bernice Venom Brown and I approve of this message... |
