Now, as an adult, she's the author of several children's books as well as published essays about her life experiences. She is currently writing a memoir about her experiences living and teaching in Burkina Faso, West Africa, where she spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer. In addition to writing, Kara loves traveling, camping, teaching, and eating international food. She grew up in Virginia, but now lives in Minnesota with her husband, two stepsons, and a lot of houseplants. |
