Publisher Description: This beautifully illustrated children's novel was written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. In 1888, two years after the book Little Lord Fauntleroy, she brought in the youth magazine Saint Nicholas the serialized novel Sara Crewe: or, What Happened at Miss Minchin's Boarding School. After the success of the series, she published a novella in 1903 as A Little Princess. In 1905 it was followed by the conversion to an enhanced novel, A Little Princess: The story of Sara Crewe, in which now also appear the classmates Lottie and Ermengarde, the maid Becky and the rat Melchisedec. Popularity of the novel is big enough than even an anime adaptation on the novel called Princess Sara was produced by Nippon Animation in 1985, and an American film adaptation critically acclaimed was made in 1995 ran under the same tittle as the book. |
