Publisher Description:
Wonderfully Made: Teaching God's Word through Physical Activity, is a Bible-based curriculum that connects Kindergarten through 3rd grade participants with God's Word through character-building games and activities. These activities include engaging, interactive games that bring everyone's favorite childhood Bible stories to life while also aiding in the development of age-appropriate gross motor skills and introducing basic concepts of a variety of sports. Each unit begins with a 10-15 minute lesson from the Bible story. Main characters, basic storyline, and spiritual objective will all be identified. After the lesson, the rules and object of the game are introduced using sensory perspectives from the story. Each lesson will also directly address several important gross motor skill benchmarks. These benchmarks are taken from a range of sources including standards for the states of Louisiana, Texas, California, and Illinois, as well as the National Association of Physical Educators. Many games also introduce the student to the fundamentals of varsity athletics like basketball, soccer, and volleyball. The vision for this curriculum is to introduce the love of God through interactive Bible stories while simultaneously addressing the physical development process. This curriculum is available to schools, summer camps, daycares, Vacation Bible Schools, home schools, and other institutions that are looking for an engaging program that meets both the physical and spiritual needs of their children.
