Publisher Description:
Tale of Two Cities is one of the novels of British writer Charles Dickens, published in 1859. This novel is particularly different from the others who wrote, which are based mostly in stories featuring children or adolescents and show an intention to reprimand or withdrawal of British society at the time. In this historical novel it is narrated life in the eighteenth century, at the time of the French Revolution. At the same time the story takes place in two countries, England and France, and in the cities of London and Paris, respectively at the time of the dawn of the French Revolution. The first city somehow symbolize peace and tranquility, simple and orderly life; while the latter represent stirring, challenge and chaos, conflict between two worlds in a time when drastic social change is announced.
