Brief information about Cuba and Havana City were also provided to help readers appreciate the context of the pictures. The pictures shown in the book were taken between 2005 and 2008, long before the recent gradual rapprochement of relationship between Cuba and USA. Hence, it is hoped that it would provide a good visual representation of the conditions of the important and historic buildings and other places of interest, within the period when the pictures were taken. The pictures includes that of notable places of interest in the city such as Old Havana, Vedado, Miramar, Playa, Havana waterfront, beaches and Havana forts, and of ordinary people on the street.
