Publisher Description: The Warrior-Queen, Naldena, is a woman chosen by her people to lead them, but who yearns for things that her role denies her. With the arrival of a band of raiders led by the ruthless Mal-dachar, Naldena is forced to assume the role that others have defined for her. Dealing in part with the darker side of Man's nature some may see The Warrior-Queen as an allegory for the conflict in our world, told from the perspective of a female protagonist. Others may see Naldena as someone unable to resist the conformity that society demands. While others will see it as simply a tale of ancient conflict. The Warrior-Queen is a long, narrative poem split into fifteen episodes, each written in blank verse that is rich in imagery and description. |
