The author reflects on his journey from innocence, and describes a variety of young ladies he met in this fine city, from his first love and then beyond. His girlfriends, which ranged from the virtuous to the not so virtuous, came from all corners of Bristol. This, coupled with his job taking him around the city, led to him discovering a variety of clubs, pubs and cinemas in the city, many now long gone. He describes his experiences with an open honesty and, more than once, suggests he might be giving away 'too much information'.
