Publisher Description:
America's Private Forests: Status and Stewardship examines private forests in the United States (which constitute 58% of U.S. forests) and presents data from a wide variety of sources on their status, as well as valuable information on strategies for their protection, conservation, and management. This is a reference and information resource. The book presents information, data, and analysis-the product of a great deal of research-about the state of private forests in the U.S. It's a status report that puts the data into context of concern for biodiversity. The final chapter offers an action plan for protecting private forests, with specific recommendations.
