Contributor Bio(s): Dowd, Hedda: - Hedda Gioia Dowd is the creative founder and visionary behind rise, which she opened in 2008. Her unique restaurant has been featured in the New York Times, the Dallas Morning News, Texas Monthly, D Magazine, and Fort Worth Star-Telegram, among others. Born to an Italian American father and a French mother, she spent every summer since childhood in France and her passion for French food grew with her. Dowd resides in Dallas, Texas.Brahmi, Cherif: - Cherif Brahmi is the executive chef and owner of rise, where he makes beautiful French fare approachable and fun, focusing the menu on savory and sweet soufflés. Classically trained in France, Brahmi has studied with some of the greats, including the Troisgros brothers, Paul Bocuse, and Jean LaFont. He has contributed his culinary skills to such events as Savor Dallas, the Les Dames d'Escoffier Dallas Chapter Annual Raiser Grazer, and the CityArts Celebration in the Dallas Arts District.
