In addition, she is the editor of Mountain Travel Guide, a twice-yearly magazine/visitor's guide. Karen is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She lives in the mountains of western North Carolina and has hiked extensively throughout the state with her dog, a black Lab named Shelby.
