Contributor Bio(s): Mukhopadhyay, Ramesh Chandra: - Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mukhopadhyaya, (b.1947) is a distinguished scholar, researcher, a bilingual writer in English and Bengali and editor from Kolkata. He did M. A. in three subjects, M.Phil. and Ph.D. in English and Sutrapitaka Tirtha and retired as a College lecturer and Professor. His M.Phil. dissertation is on the study of The Ramayana from psychological point of view, while his doctoral thesis is on the Jataka Tales in the light of aesthetics. Now he is the pioneering leader and dedicated soldier of the Underground Literature Movement in Bengal. He is the Editor of the Journal Platform along with Dr. Mousumi Ghosh of Calcutta University. He is a prolific writer and he has been writing for the past thirty years on diverse topics and subjects. He is the recipient of Ashutosh Mukherjee Gold Medal for his treatise on modern drama. He has written more than forty books in English and Bengali and has published hundreds of critical articles and poems. He lives near Sri Ramakrishna Mission at Belur in Kolkata. |
