Publisher Description:
Several documents by these fabulous "Jane" women talking about the group's illegal activities: learning how to perform abortions, teaching themselves and others the skill, and ultimately providing abortions (and support) for thousands of women in the Chicago area. Truly impressive work that was equally risky and still relevant to learn about today.

Contributor Bio(s): Arcana, Judith: - Judith Arcana writes stories, poems, books, and essays; teaches literature, writing, and women's studies; and visits many campuses and community groups in North America and the UK to do readings and talk about reproductive justice. She is a Jane, meaning she works for the Abortion Counseling Service of the Chicago Women's Liberation Union to protect and fight for reproductive rights. Arcana was born and raised near the Great Lakes and now lives in the Pacific Northwest.
