Publisher Description: After surviving several years of sexual abuse and watching my mother slowly die from Xanax addiction, I decided that the best way to put life into perspective, and to heal, was to write about it. My memories are both tragic and heartwarming growing up in Anderson, Indiana. It was the house on Cross Street that truly gave me strength and ignited a passionate desire to learn about the inter-weaving of family issues through the lenses of poverty, drug addiction, death, and sexual abuse. Putting my experiences into a sociological perspective allowed me to examine each of these areas until I reached an understanding, an inner peace. |
