Rabbi Noson Sternhartz (1780-1844) was the foremost disciple of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772-1810) and is known as "Reb Noson" among Breslover Chasidim.

David Sears directs the New York-based Breslov Center for Spirituality and Inner Growth. He is the author of several books, including The Tree That Stands Beyond Space: Rebbe Nachman of Breslov on the Mystical Experience; The Path of the Baal Shem Tov and Compassion for Humanity in the Jewish Tradition. A skilled artist, he has also written and illustrated a number of Jewish children's books, including Rebbe Nachman's mystical allegory, The Lost Princess.
