Publisher Description: (Black and white version) Hytrek brothers Gregor, Stanislaus, and Frederick and sister Magdalena (Hytrek) Frost emigrated to Nebraska from what is now Poland in the 1880s. Photos and descriptions offer highlights of their lives during the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Hytreks homesteaded in Holt County Nebraska where they successfully raised their families on sandhills prairie land. They were charter members of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart, and helped established a thriving community of hardy Green Valley residents who picnicked at Dora Lake, went swimming in the Krysl swimming hole, and fished in the Hytrek ponds. Included is a genealogy of five generations of the Hytreks of Poland. This book is in English, Polish, and German. |
