Publisher Description:
Have you ever been in a place or situation that produced uncomfortable feelings? Persistent feelings that wouldn't leave but continued in intensity until you knew it was a place or situation you needed to vacate only to discover there is no acceptable or uncomplicated way out? I'm sure your answer is yes if you have lived beyond infancy It was this type of situation that caused someone long ago to coin the phrase "I feel trapped." Well, I feel trapped Trapped within a society that I no longer recognize or feel comfortable living in. It is a society that has lost touch with reality and common sense; a society whose moral values are decaying at an ever increasing rate. It breeds laziness, disrespect and government dependency while discouraging discipline, patriotism and the work ethic. It flaunts lavishness while ignoring ever increasing out of control individual family and government debt. A debt that if left unattended to will soon bring this great country to its knees. It is a society that has allowed political correctness to override common sense. So, come, take a journey with me, back to my childhood from 1935 to 1953, back to a better society, a better time. I want you to compare that time to today's, learning where I come from and why I now feel trapped. I want you to discover all those social standard changes that have taken this great nation down a road of decay. I want you to explore a different time, a better time, my time. A time when I chased lightning bugs, helped mom wash clothes on a scrub board, smelled her pies cooling on the window sill, snitched ice chips from the back of the truck delivering block ice for my aunt's icebox and cashed-in returnable bottles to get money for a movie theater ticket. I want you to see how I was parented and educated; learn how the paid-for entertainment industry has drastically changed how we think and act; be surprised by the negative impact caused by today's 33 times greater family affluence level; discover my concept of politics, comparing it to the carnivals my brother and I took-in as children; visit some of my memorable moments that have become so valuable now that I'm 83 years old, moments I now mentally replay to once again see those I love and miss and hear again their voices, moments I believe are so different from those created by today's children; be surprised and possibly enraged as I discuss racism then and now, challenging all you "race card" holders; awaken to the need to fight against socialism which is gaining political power; and get my take on why and how the Church has lost its positive affect on society. So, pack-up a few things, including paper and pencil for taking notes or bring along a small computer. Get mentally prepared for our journey. I want your complete concentration on what I'm going to show you. I want you to take notes for future study of what I have exposed you to because I want you to decide if this country needs to find its way back to that time, that better society. I warn you If your answer is yes, we better get started because it may already be too late
